Flooring FAQ

Everything you need to know before your new flooring is fitted. Can't find your answer? Just WhatsApp us.

1 The Service

Do you do supply only, or fitting as well?

Both. Our main business is supplying quality carpet and flooring — many customers prefer to arrange their own fitter or fit it themselves. If you'd also like professional fitting, we offer that as a separate service. Our measurer will explain both options and their costs clearly when they visit your home.

Do you take away the old flooring?

Our primary business is supplying quality flooring. If you've also booked fitting, our measurer will discuss what's included on the visit — this covers old carpet/flooring removal, disposal of old underlay, gripper rods, and any other details specific to your room. What's included in fitting will be clearly agreed before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

How long does fitting take?

A standard bedroom carpet takes around 1–2 hours. A full house (3 bedrooms, landing, stairs) typically takes a full day. Laminate and LVT in an open-plan living room and kitchen usually takes half a day. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when we survey your home.

What's included in the price?

Our quoted price includes: the flooring material, all fitting labour, new gripper rods (for carpet), new underlay (unless you have a good one already), removal of your old flooring, door trims and finishing strips, and a full tidy up. No hidden extras — what we quote is what you pay.

Do you move furniture?

If fitting is included, our measurer will discuss furniture on the visit. For large or heavy items (wardrobes, pianos, large beds) we'll let you know what needs moving beforehand. This is all agreed clearly at the measuring stage — no surprises on fitting day.

Do you work on weekends?

Yes — we work Monday to Saturday 8am–7pm and Sunday 10am–4pm. We know most people work during the week, so weekend appointments are available at no extra charge.

2 Quotes & Pricing

How do I get a quote?

The easiest way is to WhatsApp us your room size (length × width in metres) and your postcode. We'll send back a rough guide price within minutes. For an exact fixed quote, we visit your home for a free measuring appointment — this takes around 20 minutes and is completely free with no obligation.

Is there a call-out or survey fee?

No — measuring visits are completely free. There is no charge whether you go ahead or not. We never charge for quotes, surveys or samples.

Supply only or supply + fitting — what's the difference?

Supply only means we measure, order and deliver your flooring — you arrange fitting yourself. Supply + fitting means our team also installs it. These are priced separately. On the measuring visit, our team will give you a clear price for each option so you can decide what works for you. Old flooring removal, gripper rods, underlay and any extras will all be discussed and priced at that point.

Do I pay a deposit?

A small deposit is required when you confirm your order to cover the cost of ordering your flooring. The balance is paid on delivery or completion. We accept cash, bank transfer and most major cards.

3 Choosing Your Flooring

How do I see the samples?

We bring our samples to your address as part of the free measuring visit. There's no need to travel to us. You can see exactly how the colours and textures look in your own room, in your own light — which makes choosing much easier. Just book a free visit and we'll bring everything we need.

Which carpet is best for stairs?

For stairs we recommend a Twist or Berber Loop carpet — both are hard-wearing and handle heavy foot traffic well. Avoid Saxony or velvet finishes on stairs as they show footprints and wear more quickly. We can show you samples from our stair-specific range when we visit.

What's the best flooring for a kitchen or bathroom?

Vinyl (sheet vinyl or LVT) is the most popular choice for kitchens and bathrooms because it's 100% waterproof and easy to clean. Click LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) is our top recommendation — it looks like real wood or stone, is completely waterproof and works with underfloor heating. Avoid laminate in wet rooms as it can swell with moisture unless it's a specifically water-resistant product.

Can flooring be fitted over underfloor heating?

Yes — most of our LVT and laminate options are compatible with underfloor heating. Some carpets are also suitable but with limitations. When enquiring, let us know you have underfloor heating so we can recommend the right products and ensure the installation is done correctly.

Do you fit flooring if I supply my own?

In most cases, yes — we can fit flooring you've already purchased. Contact us with the product details and we'll confirm whether we can work with it and give you a fitting-only quote. Please note we can't provide a guarantee on supply-only products.

4 Artificial Grass

How long does artificial grass last?

Quality artificial grass lasts 15–20 years when properly installed and maintained. Our premium ranges come with a manufacturer's guarantee. The key to longevity is proper installation with the right base — which is exactly what our fitting service includes.

Is artificial grass safe for children and pets?

Yes — all our artificial grass is non-toxic and pet-safe. It's also hypoallergenic, which makes it a great choice for families where members suffer from grass pollen allergies. Our grass drains efficiently so there's no mud or standing water for children or pets to track into the house.

What does the installation include?

Full artificial grass installation includes: removal of existing grass/lawn, excavation and levelling, laying a weed membrane, installing a compacted aggregate base, fitting the grass and securing it correctly, and cutting around all edges. This ensures drainage works properly and the grass stays flat and secure for years.
